Problems with Yahoo Email after upgrading MSIE 6.0

After upgrading to MSIE 6.0 i'm having problems with my Yahoo email.

When i go to the mail page, sometimes it loads up fine, sometimes the left "frame" doesn't load, sometimes the right "frame" doesn't load. When i click to get new mail, sometimes the message i'm trying to read doesn't load.

When i say it doesn't load, it's just blank (ie-white) and it says 'Done' on the bottom left of the screen. It seems like all the info comes over the internet ok, but it just doesn't "splash" to the screen at the end like it should (i hope this makes some sense).

I've written Yahoo but they were not help. I've also tried to uninstall MSIE 6.0 and reinstall MSIE 5.5, but the problem remained.

I've tested this using Netscape and occaisionally have the same problem, so i think it's an OS situation rather than an MSIE.

Yahoo mail is the only page i have this problem. OS is Win98.

I don't remember exactly what it took to fix it but I had the same thing once and was able to fix it by changing the Security settings in the browser to less restrictive.

That's not much help but perhaps a starting place for you to fool with while waiting for better.

I've used the same Yahoo email for the longest. I recently put IE 6 on 3 pc's here at home and don't experience your problem. The browser is set to default settings. Sorry I have no ideas; does the Yahoo main page load ok, and then the email portion act goofy?

I have my home page set to Yahoo mail, and when i go there sometimes the page loads normally, sometimes the main area loads normal but the left margin is blank (ie-white), soemtimes the left margin loads normal but the main area is blank. The problem appears to be random.

Also, i've tried using Netscape and the problem exists there as well, so i think it's a registry problem somewhere within Win98.

It's so bad i'm thinking of restoring the computer back to "out of the box" state!

If Yahoo is the ONLY page that doesn't load properly (random), I wouldn't reload the box. A longshot, but it's a freebie and good ad blocker. Yahoo loads alot of ads, which "might" be causing the stalls. Worth a try. Get the SE edition.
