I installed version 10.01 of WinFax Pro last night and I can't get it to work. So, I removed it using the "Add and Remove Programs" in the Control Panel. Now, I am getting the following error when I open MS Word:

    Microsoft Visual Basic
Compile error in hidden module: WinFaxPrintandMerge

The removal did not delete the files and/or folders for either WinFaxPro or Symantac Live Update. Should I remove both of those folders with the files in them or is this something else. I have no clue. Any help would be appreciated.

Not familiar with WinFax, but under these circumstances - a partly failed uninstall I would reload WinFax, reboot and then uninstall again and reboot.

If that does not solve the Word problem try a repair - Help > Detect & Repair.

Unless some one else has any other ideas ....

I tried the Word detect and repair, but it didn't help. I will try your suggestion to reload and uninstall again. Thanks.

Before doing another install and uninstall, I did a little research on the Symantec site and found an article about problems with Word macros following the installation of WinFax Pro 10.02. My version was 10.01, but I tried the solution and it fixed my problem.

I have come to the conclusion that Symantec products cause some of the most hard to fix problems ever. I have had major problems with both NAV and Norton Ghost messing up other programs and those problems were not easy to fix. In fact, I never could get a problem with Ghost fixed so I quit using it and started using Acronis True Image. It is a much easier program to work with.
