Is there a way to change the monitor resolution and

frequency of an acount "x ", from the administrator

    account in windows 2000 professional?

The reason i'm trying to do this is because the account

"x" is the one it automatically logs on to (which

reminds me to also ask if/how can i just turn the

administrator account as the default one at the time of

login) and although windows load in this account, it do

so with a black screen since a discrepancy between

frequency and resolution happened (i think) when i was

changing the resolution through the shortcut menu of a

    software called Winbar.

I can log in safe or VGA mode, like i'm doing now, but

if i leave it alone at the time of login, it logs

straight to this "x" account, which is pre-set in

this conflicting mode, without a stop for me to change

    to another user i.e. Administrator.

    Any help is appreciated.

Hold down the SHIFT key while the PC is starting. You should get a login box.

Thank you for the reply. I was getting a login box, but it popped for a few seconds and autologged to that user (which as i came to check later, had also admin priviledges), and during those few seconds when the login box popped up, I couldn't change anything, even the password was in a grey'ed (unchangeable) field.

Holding shift during the login didn't work, it still went throught the same autologging-to-*******-frequency-set user, so i pressed f8 when the computer was starting and logged in VGA mode, then disabled that user through the pannel control > users and passwords, then let it try to autolog, to no avail, which gave me the opportunity to log to the first administrator account (when it says the account it is trying to log was disabled by the administrator). Then reinstalled the drivers for the video card, which made it work.

    Excuse the prolixity.
