I have Windows Vista Business edition on a 32-bit machine. A while back, I'm not exactly sure what happened but I guess the add/remove programs feature reset itself or something and it only displays programs I have installed ever since then and not ones from before. Only about a quarter of the programs I have installed on my computer are displayed. Basically, only some and not all of my programs are displayed in the box.

Also, I believe this occurred around the time I installed the 2010 Microsoft Office Beta version from the Microsoft website. I need to fix this because 2010 Beta expired and I need to remove it but it is not showing up on the Add/remove programs dialogue box.

    Welcome to BBS.

First try, click start, type appwiz.cpl in the search box and hit enter and check the list. If that didn't work try this:

Click start and type cmd in the search box, in the box above right click on 'cmd' and click run as administrator. Then at the command prompt type sfc /scannow note the space before the /. Hit enter. This will scan your OS for any damaged files, you may be asked to insert your Vista disc.

The guide in this forum will show you how to remove the Office Beta you have.

If the above doesn't work please tell me if you have noticed anything unusual in the operation of any programs, slow downs or crashes. Have you uninstalled any programs recently or changed your Virus software. Try disabling your Virus software and then check the list again. With the Add/Remove list open leave it for a while to see if it will populate and check your hard drive activity in task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) and look at CPU usage % at the bottom of the box.
