Okay so I got a new Logitech laser mouse to replace my old rolling ball one. I have a problem with it though. I use Firefox, and constantly use tabbed browsing. The wheel button is very convenient for this because if you click a link with it, the link opens up in a new tab. Unfortunately, that doesn't work with this new mouse. I think the problem is with FireFox, because tabbed browsing works fine in IE 7. Any help?

Clicking a wheel works for me in Firefox. It opens a new tab, so I guess, it must be something with your mouse settings.

I tried everything in my control panel, but that didn't work. I always thought there were some sort of tabbed browsing preferences in FF.

They are, under Tools>Options>Tabs, but there is nothing about mouse configuration there, unless you install TabMixPlus add-on.

You may check one thing though. In a new tab, type:
    about:config
    Hit Enter
    In a Filter bar paste:
    middlemouse.openNewWindow
If it's set to "False ", double click it to change it to "True ".
Now, middleclick should open a link in a new window, but if you go Tools>Options>Tabs, and put a checkmark next to:
    a new tab
    under:
    New pages should open in:
your link after middleclick should open in a new tab, instead of a new window.

That how I already have it. I checked and nothing happened unfortunately.
