I recently installed IE6 SP1 on my Windows 2000 Pro system. Now I cannot launch Outlook Express or Outlook, and right-clicking in a browser window produces the "Send an error report to MS" dialog box and shuts down IE.

When I launch Outlook 2000, I get the message "OUTLOOK.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.....An error log is being created." The same message appears on Outlook Express except it refers to msimn.exe instead.

    Anybody got any helpful solutions?

I also ran into that corrupted Java applet problem chunli has talked about, but I have yet to run Ad-Aware so that may fix the problem.

EDIT: I have already tried repairing the installations of both Office 2000 and IE6, to no avail.

Disable Error Reporting. Hopefully, you'll then receive a more meaningful error message which will help identify the cause of the problem.
