    Hi
Since updating to IE11 I seem to be having problems viewing some videos on certain sites.
I have Quicktime, Shockwave, and RealAlternative installed and have also tried using Compatibility View but videos on some sites do not play and they give no Idea what they need to work, maybe be a setting in IE11 that is causing the problem any help would be welcome.
I have also noticed that none of the above player software is shown in the Manage add-ons section of IE11

some of the sites that will not play are ...

Hi alboy, I've just viewed the videos for both the sites you Posted both in W7 Pro 64bit and W8.1 64bit using IE11. All work OK with me.
Do you need Codecs to help and have you got the latest Video/Graphics Drivers for your comp? Neil.

Those two sites above are using Flash videos. The first is embedding youtube content, then second is embedding its own content. Verify you have the latest Flash.

I have version 12,0,0,70 installed and it is the 32bit version according to IE11 Add-on section
When I use the Adobe website to confirm that flash is working it appears that it is working okay ?

Thanks Tony. It was late for me (about 1am) and after I Posted, I shut my comp and then thought of Flash Player.
    My ActiveX version is 11.0.1.152
My Plugin Version is 12.0.0.44 and it's 32bit and it all works. Neil.

I still cannot get the videos to work on those sites, could it have anything to do with my Antivirus ?

Hi alboy, Yes it could. Why don't you Download MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) from MS and SAVE to your Desktop/Download folder.

Disconnect from your Internet connection - Disable Kaspersky and then RUN MSE to install and let it update by reconnecting your Internet.
Once it's running OK - then try your Video links.

I'm not conversant with Kaspersky - you may be able to fiddle with Security levels and set them lower to try your links. Neil.

I uninstalled the update KB2670838 and rebooted to find that IE11 had been replaced with IE9 but I still could not view the videos on the sites listed along with many other sites, so I then installed Google Chrome and I was able to view the videos okay, I then reinstalled IE11 but am still unable to view the problem videos in IE11 so it seems that there is a problem with IE11 ?

Go to Programs and Features and uninstall IE 11. It will revert back to IE 10. See if you still have the problem them.

I did an upgrade from IE9 directly to IE11 but found that going back to IE9 did not cure the problem

    Download Internet Explorer 10

Visit this link and Download the correct version and Run it. See if that helps. You must have some corruption on your system/OS if it operates on mine OK, as I stated earlier.
Have you tried sfc /scannow or chkdisk for errors.Neil.

Uninstalled IE11 which then reverted to IE9 I then installed IE10 but the problem with viewing some videos still exist, It seems to work okay for YouTube but not the original sites that have been the problem,
They still appear to work in Google Chrome just not IE9, IE10, or IE11 The problem just seems to be linked to Internet Explorer, Is there a setting that may need changing ?

I can't add any more to what I said at the start. I've just tested your links again in both W7 and W8.1 with IE11 and they run perfectly.
You may need to check ALL drivers in your comp are up to date as I can't reproduce your problem. Neil.

I think that I will leave well alone and just use Chrome when needed.
Many thanks for all your replies
