Problems starting my pc

    Hello, Every morning the past few days my PC Compaq Presario 1030NX, does something strange. I turn on the power and the fan I believe does not stop running and it wont come off the black screen it shows when you first turn your PC on and today I heard beeps while it was doing it. But if I unplug it then it boots up normal. What could be wrong with this thing? thanks for any help.

    Amber, when it fails to boot, the beeping should be continuous and resemble some pattern. Example beep patterns are single beeps, another is two short beeps followed by one long beep. These patterns then continue until you power off the PC.

    Can you relay to us what pattern of beeps you're hearing? It would be critical to know in order to start troubleshooting.
