Hi, I upgraded from XP to Vista. I lost all my documents and settings. Everytime I install software when I reboot it goes away. My setting changes do not stay when I reboot. I have to re-setup my email (outlook 2003) upon every reboot. Outlook asks me to setup a new account everytime I launch it upon reboot. Any help on how I can get it to keep changes would be much appreciated. thanks.

Can only suggest you do a clean install instead.

You probably won't like hearing that, but even for me it was the only option to get a working system.

Just got this book the other day.

Started off with XP with the Inside/OUT book by Ed Bott - falling apart :)

    Regards - Charles

    Simular problem

Did this ever get solved? I have simular problem. Cannot perform a Restart. PC freezes. Fan turns. Hard drive runs. No video even at the pre-boot, i.e. bios/cmos or logos screens.

Did an upgrade-not clean install. CD's from Microsoft will not install from boot. Ideas?
