Problems loading xp pro

    I formatted the hard drive of a friends pc and started to install xp pro. Part way thru an error message came up stopping the install.

    SXS.dll syntax error in manifest or policy file D:\I386\ASMS\1000\MSFT\windows\CDI plus.man" on line 4

    How do I correct this please.
