I recently bought a cd burner to add to my system. I had no problem installing the software, but when i hook up the burner itself, I get an error message (something about msgrv32 creating a protection something or other with KRNL386.exe) and then windows won't start up. Its a Philips 8x4x32 and it should be compatible with my computer. I have Windows 95, Pentium 2 at 233mg. I already tried the philips people but they were absolutely no help. Thanks

If you can get the exact text of the error message, we might be able to track down the problem.

    the exact error message is:
This program has performed an illegal operation . . .
    Details:
msgsrv32 caused a general protection fault in module krnl386.exe at 0002:00003066 . . . . followed by a bunch of numbers. Then windows won't start up.
