I use the Webshots Desktop for my wallpaper and screensaver, and things have worked smoothly for a long time with no hangups.

Now I'm having problems, and I'm lost as to why.

#1 I'm told I may not have the proper permissions (I'm the ONLY user on the computer)

#2. This is a recent error message I recieved when trying to download a photousing Firefox.

    C:\Users\SANDIE~1\AppData\Local\Temp\39dde6a91927b159603e5e4c78323f8d-1.wbz could not be
    opened, because anunknown error occured.

Try saving to disk first and then opening the file

Using IE7 I get this message,

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item

Last week I had similar problems, and then discovered that my Webshots Desktop needed to be updated. After updating the downloads worked again with no problems. But suddenly today I am getting the same messages I received last week before updating.

I cleared the temporary Internet files. I rand a Disk Cleanup
I opened IE7 with "Run as administrator ", which is totally frustrating me, and it made no difference whatsoever.

    Any suggestions?

You can navigate to that folder,
the Temp folder for your user profile, and delete everything inside it. See if that makes any difference.

I solved the problem by removing the Webshots Desktop program, then I downloaded the latest version and installed it. Everything is working fine now.

I did try emptying the temp folder, and I did a disk cleanup, it didn't work. There must have been a glitch in the updated version after I installed it over the old program. But do a clean install worked.

    Thanks for your suggestion.
