I'm using Vista Home Premium and i can't seem to be able to run any applications that i have downloaded from the internet. Downloading is fine but running the program after download is a problem. The application doesn't open even tho the hourglass (or circle Vista type hourglass) appears briefly. I haven't had any problems with programs from a cd (like Simcity Socirties and Office 2007) or the preinstalled programs and antivirus(Windows Live Messengar, Media Center, McAfee Total Protection) and i have checked my laptop for viruses but none appear (except PUPs). Right now i am having problems with limewire, skype and itunes. Please help as i may even convert to macintosh-ism with the problems i'm having with vista!

Not sure what to tell you... have you switched off User Account Control (UAC)?

Well, I never ever recommend switching off UAC. It creates all kind of weird problems (permission related).

I suggest you make sure you have all MS updates installed for your OS.
