Problem With Xp And Scanner/email Attachments

I run XP, and when i scan anything with my cannon fb 630, it is stored in a kodak file format. When i receive emails with attachments, the attachments are also in kodak file format. When i attempt to open the attachments, or anything i have scanned, all that opens is my kodak photo album. Please help me out.

Something to try is to get Irfanview (get the app and the plug-ins).

When you install it, set it to notify you if a file type and the extension are different (so a mis-named .gif that is really a .jpg). It will also very clearly tell you if a file is not a picture or some other type of AV media.

Use Irfanview to open a couple of the problem items and see if it flags you.

The fact that you mention all your email attachments claim to be kodak pic files makes me wonder. BTW - is that ALL all of them or just attached pictures?
