When program Deepnet Explorer is run, after about 1 minute it produces a message that it has an error and has to close. The error information refers to MSVCR80.DLL.
Windows Error Reporting also directs to that DLL.
This file is present, but in different revisions at different locations. I have also ovserved VC80.MFC reported to be missing.
I beleive these are related to Framework.net.
Framework 1.1 and Framework 2 are both loaded - is this correct?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Deepnet Explorer -no effect.
If I go to uninstall Framework 2, it gives an option to Repair, which I have completed.
Frameword 1.1 does not appear to have that option.
I see reference to MSVCR80.DLL in MS Knowledgebase, but not totally confident in what to follow - I see thant many comments relate to distribution of this file with applications, which is not what I want to achieve.

I have also looked at System Restore, and have gone back to my earliest restore point without resolving the problem.
Will appreciate any guidance re recovery from this difficulty.
My other browsers work 100%, and I do not identify any other problem except with this one application.

    Thanks

This problem was forwarded to the developers some time ago. I don't see a solution. Check with other users at their forums.

    Try this.
Run "sfc /scannow" no quotes. It will check the integrity of your MS files.
There is a space between the c and /
