I just disabled the Background Intelligent Transfer, and when I restarted the computer and started Internet Explorer; Homepage: http://www.sbc.yahoo.com/dsl/. It said Macromedia Flash wasn't installed, so I installed it again; nothing worked. I enabled BIT, but it still says the same thing.

    DeadlyCreature--
Sites that use Macromedia Flash usually require that ActiveX controls be permitted to run. The simplest way to do that is to put the site into your Trusted Sites (assuming you do trust it). Uncheck the box "Require Server Verification... "|OK|Apply|OK.
Is this homepage new? Strange you would not have seen this before.

I always had this homepage. I fixed that problem before by updating the Flash Add-On, but it does not work this time.

    DeadlyCreature--Regrettably when I try to access http://www.sbc.yahoo.com/dsl/
I am redirected to http://sbc.yahoo.com/ which is a page offering me SBC Internet Service.
I see no indication that Flash is involved on the http://sbc.yahoo.com page.

I understand you cannot use your internet service because of the message you see. Perhaps you should contact SBC. It would seem you are not getting the service you are paying for.
P.S. Any reason why you disabled BIT?

It is not interfering with my service whatsoever. It just says Flash is not active on the home page.

    Guess I misunderstood.
You have nothing to lose by contacting SBC, but if you do not want to, maybe just live with the message.
