I created a ghost image from a laptop, storing the resulting files on the network.

    It created 3 files:

    • dell4000.gho - 161Mb,
    • dell4001.ghs - 406Mb
    • dell4002.ghs - 1.5Gb.

I have used this program many times before and am used to it splitting files once it gets to 2Gb but have not seen it split so early before.

Now when I try to reload the image, all I get is an "Unexpected end of file" error message.

Does anyone know if I can repair it? or do I have to rebuild the machine. It is ghost 7.0, I have versions 2003 and 9.0 available if they could be used to repair?

Also, can I stop ghost splitting files at all?

    Thanks

I have no experience of neither Ghost 7.0 nor Ghost 9.0 but of Ghost 2002 and Ghost 2003 which run from DOS. All DOS based programs have the FAT32 maximum file size limit of 2 GB and there is no way (that I know of) around it.

Did You do an Intergrity Check of the image?
