Resolved problem with email links

I have cable as my internet service provider and I think, my email is based on microsoft outlook. the problem is this: when I click on a link in the email to go to an internet page, instead of that internet page pulling up, my microsoft word pulls up instead. How can i stop this from happening? I have microsoft office 2007 and vista . any advice is appreciated. thanks

 

Go to Control Panel>Default Programs and in the window that opens, click on Set Default Programs.

In that next window, click on the name of your browser to select it, then click on "Set this program as default." Click on OK.

Click on a link in an email message to see if that fixes things.

If it doesn't, go back but this time instead of "Set this program as default," click on "Set defaults for this program. "

In the window that opens, make sure every box has a check, then click on the Save button. See if that fixes things.
