In another thread, it was suggested that I try running Disk Investigator on my computer. I installed the program without any trouble, but when I try to run it, I consistently get the message "error reading sector ". I tried downloading and reinstalling the program again (after first uninstalling my first installation of it), but the same thing is still happening.
When I run scandisk, it tells me everything's okay...
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Rebecca

    Hi Rebbeca,

Don't know why. I have it as a secondary program of this type.

What I use is Disk Pie, but it costs: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1616002,00.asp

You can go to the site and see ahead of time what it does and shows the way it looks with explanations.

In the meantime, I'll look around for more freeware of this type. And perhaps others looking in on this thread will also have suggestions.

    Regards - Charles
