I have a Win2000 laptop that belongs to a corporate domain. I bring it home and plug in into my home router, which is connected to a DSL modem. I have a Win 98 PC that is also connected to my home router.

My Win98 PC uses the 2000's domain name for its workgroup name, and has a folder on its 'C' drive shared. When I try to access this share from the 2000 laptop, I get the error message "No logon server available to server your request ". I cannot see the Win 98 PC in my Win 2000 Network Neighboorhood, but I can see my Win 2000 laptop in my Win 98 PC's Network Neighboorhood.

Any idea what I need to configure to access the 98 PC from my 2000 laptop? The 2000 machine can't be a domain server, since it belongs to a corporate domain.

    Thanks!
    Chris

Are you able to logon to the laptop with a local account instead of the domain (using cached credentials) by changing the option in the drop-down list? If you have local admin rights, you can create local accounts using admin tools. Enabling NetBIOS over TCP/IP or adding NetBEUI may help with browsing.
