Problem retaining "read" settings in Outlook Express [with W2k]

    I am using Outlook Express 6, and just recently started having problems.
    I have already fixed the issue with a blocked senders list that up and disappeared. However, Tools/Options/Read changes will not stick. As soon as I close Outlook Express and then re-open, the check marks I just ticked have un-ticked themselves.
    I would appreciate help on this!

    First step - follow the instructions in An Outlook Express Basic Repair Kit with particular reference to re-registering OE and it's associated library files.
