Hello--I'm wanting to remove the Open Office that I have on my computer one problem when trying to remove from add/remove it asks for a CD of course I downloaded this program from there website several years back no CD. I went to the Windows Install Cleanup the only thing this done was remove it from the list. I even tried to uninstall it from the Revo which I downloaded. Windows Install removed the entry so trying to remove it that way no good the entry was deleted. I went into search and found three files but wasn't sure about that they only had minimal KB. So I left that alone. By chance would anyone have any other ideas except for going and buy the CD that they ask for in the beginning. I would appreciate it.
    Thanks

Thank you Russ for responding to my recent request. Since I submitted the request I believe is was on the 1st of September I've been doing a lot of reading on this subject. It seem every where I looked to resolve this issue I never honestly was able while searching Google, Open Office home page etc. to acquire a concrete answer until early this morning just before I received your reply where I read that by installing a fresh copy over the old one would allow me to remove the program the regular way in add/remove. But this time I updated the version to the 3.1. I didn't want to have to go back into the add/remove this time and still when trying to remove it possibly asking for the same thing (CD) to remove I didn't know either way for sure if even updating to the newer version would ask or not lucky for me it did not ask. Lucky for me the removal when good no problem on this attempt. Windows took over the configuration and done its thing like it's suppose to rather then asking for a CD to finish the removal. The only thing was after the deletion was to go back into my search and just see if there were any left overs in there and the utility came up with nothing. I did however ran CCleaner to look for any leftover files and it picked up several doing that and I used another software that in my opinion is pretty good as well to look for not only registry entries but for files from the removed program still on the hard drive the name of this one is Advanced System Care3. Believe it or not it came up with probably a dozen more left over files from Open Office as well.
But Russ I do appreciate the return email.
    Thank you
    Garry
