Problem installing network card, Protocol errors.

I keep on having a error pop up every time i install any network card as i have a 3com EtherLink PCI 10/100 Card and a Belkin PCI 10/100 Network Cards. When i try and install any of them it brings up the same error's all the time and then my printer software crashes.

The Error that comes up is somethink about cannot load protocol and it ranges, sometimes it will come up with protocol 1 sometimes 2 sometimes 3 and sometimes 4 but they all give the same reason, the computer name you have specified already exsits or somethink like that comes up at the end of the sentence in the error dialogue box.

The error then causes my printer software to crash, if you think you might recognise it, then here is the file name of the printer program that keeps on crashing as soon as the errors have been dismissed: Lexpps and sometimes Lxsupmon - these are based with my Lexmark Z45e USB printer

I have had the network cards running in my machine before with no problems what so ever and then this keeps on happening.

I would really appreciate anyone who could give me help on how to resolve this problem.

Uninstall all the Lexmark software, disconnect the printer, and uninstall it's drivers.
Install the PCI card.
Reinstall the Lexmark.
