    absolutely over vista and office have found this site after searching for answers trying to fix the below problem but have already done everything your forum advice gives so what next? Have done more I've started from scratch several times re installing vista then office sometimes office works for a couple of times then it crashes, i am wondering if it has something to do with the updates from microsoft? can anyone help me

    Start (Orb) > Run > mspub.exe /safe > Enter

    thanks steve, i have office 07 and none of it opens i have tried different anti virus from norton to avg to avast I have loaded windows vista several umm more than several times

    oops wont even open in safe mode

    Please answer this specifically.

    Make sure you are running Service Pack 2 for Office 2007.

    If you still have the computer to hand run the Office diagnostics - details given in Office Online Help accessed from the blue button with a white ? at the righthand end of the menu bar.

    Type repair office in the search box and click on the first reference which leads you to the window shown in the screenshot below ....

    BTW have you installed Service Pack 2 for Office 2007 as queried by Arie above?

    yes and I have also tried without the service pack, im not sure what you mean? which search box do I type repair office in?
