I have recently reformated my computer and now when I go to activate my copy of Windows it keeps telling me my product key is invalid. I have seen a few places that I should try activating via phone, but I am not given such an option. As a side note, before reformat it was 64-bit, but now afterwards it has changed to 32-bit.

You have installed the wrong version.

Most likely you reinstalled an OEM version while trying to use a retail version key. You'll need to make sure you install the version that corresponds to your key (and of course install the 64-bit version & not the 32-bit).

Thank you. I can't believe I didn't notice this before but you are correct I did install the wrong version. Problem sorted and everything is fixed!
