I printed out the contents of an address book and was puzzled by the order of the printed names. It doesn't seem to matter if I use the first or last name to list them in the book, the names still seem to come out in a random order. Does anyone know how to print them out in alphabetical order? I'm using v1.6 Mozilla.

They seem to print in the order they were entered. Not truly random, but a nuisance.

I believe you have 2 options:

First Option - From within NS/MOZ - addressbook window

    1. Sort display to the order you want.
    2. Create a NEW address book (call it TEMP)
    File|New|Addressbook
    3. In the original sorted addressbook - select all and drag and drop to the NEW (TEMP) addressbook.
    4. Print preview TEMP addressbook, and it should be in the original sorted order -
    5. Print it.

I know of no method to adjust page breaks....

    Second Option.

Export addressbook to a CSV file.
Open in a spreadsheet of your choice....manipulate fields any way you want .....print what you want using conventions of your spreadsheet.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you Captain. The new address book is a good idea, but after you do this and add more names you are back to square 1!
Perhaps this thread could be viewed by the powers-to-be and they might be able to fix the print so it agrees with how it is currently sorted. Hello, Ramona, are you there?

The .mab is nothing but a database. I would not hold my breath 'till the powers to be fix it. It has several shortcommings.

    Sorry 'bout that

    ackerberg,

captjlddavis is "the powers that be" when it comes to printing the Address Book. What he told you is the way it is. It would be so lovely if the Address Book could be printed in the order of your choice... Maybe someday our developers will get around to this type of detail.

    Cheers!

    Ramona
