I'm using a Canon MP210 printer and I've had it for a couple of years now with no previous issues, but a few days ago I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and now my PC can't communicate with the printer.

The error message told me I need to enable bi-directional support for communication to proceed, but when I navigate to the 'ports' tab in the printer preferences, the option to enable this function is grayed out, along with everything else.

If I need to enable this function for my printer to continue working, but it won't let me enable it, what do I do?

    Welcome to WindowsBBs :)

Thanks for the update - although many Vista drivers will work OK on 7 check all drivers for Windows 7 versions.
