Printer Port Problem

All of a sudden, and after a couple of months of normal use, Windows can't find my printer. According to device manager my LPT1 port is working properly. However, when I tried to un-install and re-install my printer driver, it would not even list LPT1 as an option to use for the printer. As a matter of fact, in the "use this port" screen, there is absolutely nothing listed. Does anyone have any ideas as to what my problem might be? I'm helpless without my printer. Please Help!

 

You might try removing both the printer and T1 port in device manager, rebooting, letting LPT1 get detected and reinstalled. Reboot again, and then try to install printer.
