    Hi,
Lately my inkjet printer has begun acting very strange. It sometimes pauses 10's of seconds between passes of the print head when prining draft mode b&w mixed graphics and text. While it does this, my mouse also acts like it never did before: while printing if I move my mouse continuously across the screen, it too pauses for several seconds intermittantly. In the past while printing, app's were slower to respond, but the mouse never was. It's as if there is a communication bottleneck. I have tried different spooler settings to no avail. The printer can be set to print from LPT1 or USB - the same thing happens no matter. My page file is on my boot drive and is 1.5-2x RAM. I'm at a loss as to what is wrong or more likely, what I did wrong...

To try figuring out what is happening, try opening the task manager window and watch the CPU useage page while you print. It sounds like something may be using up all the cycles which will pretty much make the PC appear to hang.

If that is happening, switch over to the tab for processes, sort by the CPU column, and print again. You should see exactly what is doing the deed. Post back that information.

Another thought is to check your event logs for further information. Set to filter out success audits and informational entries so you will only see the problem entries.
