I have a printer which is shared on a network and it is installed on 2 computers. Since a couple of days ago it was working fine, now all of a sudden when I try to print on it from the server pc which is physically attached to it works fine, but when I try to print from the other workstation it doesn't print. When I open the Printer settings I see the message that the printer needs user intervention because it is set to offline. Eventually, the printer is still shared and when I am browsing on the network I manage to see the printer's icon on the server shared folder.

    Any ideas are appreciated

Have you tried putting it back to online status on the workstation?

Are the PCs otherwise doing OK with network traffic? Shared folders and such?

As regards other shared folders and such, everything is working fine. I even manage to print on other network printers.

When you told me to put it back to online status, since the printer is shared and I have not touched anything on it, where shall I go to see if it is on online status because when I right click, the option Use Printer Offline is not with a very good next to it.

Rather than spend a lot of time messing with the thing, I suggest deleting it and reinstalling. That should only take a minute or less.

LOL - maxmangion, I had to follow my own advice last night after I posted. Had a printer on the main print server that was in "paused" mode and I couldn't get the thing back online. I wasted over 45 minutes before I finally decided to delete and re-add it to the server. Luckily the users (about 30 of them) didn't have to do anything since I kept the same IP port and share name so their PCs didn't even notice. Double-lucky that all but a couple of them work A shift and were gone when the problem happened.
