I was trying to share a computer HP LaseJet 2014 in a network. I didnot know how i got to the position where all access to the printer is denied. i can no longer print or modify the printer settings at the host computer. My PCs run on Windows 7 Home Basic.Going through Contol Panel-- Devices and Printers--Right Click on HP LaseJet 2014--Properties gives Access Denied. How can i return the settings to windows default

Hi aksys. Take a look here, Troubleshoot network printer problems.

Have you tried deleting the printer and then reinstalling it to see if that solves the issue? Are you running the host machine using an administrator account?

I had a similar printer error with an Epson S21 printer, caused by an empty cartridge (1 of 4), printer at the time failed to indicate this error as all cartridges were showing a sufficient supply of ink. Checking each individual cartridge found the ink cartridge (cyan) was indeed low in ink. Printer then operated normally after replacing the (cyan) cartridge.

No they don't - but they do use Toner. Perhaps, the Toner is empty or getting low...

Do you know the IP address of the printer on the network? If so, can you ping it?
