Is an unmodified S5500UK compatible with SATA-type hard drives, without modifications? I'm thinking about upgrading a friend's PC with an old hard drive (when I upgrade my slave hard drive... my head hurts after that :D)

I would open the case and look to see what type(s) of drive connection it has....The manual and or HP's web site could also provide the info.

****, it doesn't have a SATA port that I can see (on the motherboard plan). Bugger... I hate SATA cards, only ever had bad experiences with two of the badgers...

Um, I was already looking there, and are you telling me that it actually has one? I'm confused... (I'd posted 7 mins or so before you)
