I need to renew my antivirus soon but McAfee is suggesting that their latest and greatest works only with IE.

Any suggestions from anyone regarding anything that works well with Firefox on Windows 2000?

AVG is great and it's free.

ZA free version is also highly recommended.

So, there's your firewall and anti-virus.

Lots of free spyware/malware apps out there. Believe it or not... that's the one I chose to purchase: CounterSpy. Go figure! lol

I have the same AntiVirus and Firewall as James, and I have had them for at least five years. AVG is, actually, better than most, because it is updated daily, if necessary.
I have not found any Anti-Spyware, which is free and works well.
Webroot's Spy Sweeper is very highly rated, and, it worked impressively, when I did a 30-day free trial. I have, still, not decided what to do.
Adaware and Spybot S & D do nothing better than going after cookies in Mozilla (after the fact).
For Firefox, I have SpyBlaster , which is excellent (it blocks thousands of site, by not allowing their cookies).
