Setup a watchguard 700 with PPTP VPN access.
Dialed up from office, no problem (testing)but boss can't (DSL) I go home (Cable) no problem. Boss goes to London, same problems. Found configuration problem with Watchguard (public IP's vs private), now dial up test fails (authenticates, can't PING network), but home access is still good, boss still can't access resouces (can authenticate though).

I have heard some ISP's block VPN traffic, but my dial test was working, now it's not...wait a minute. Before when I was using public IP's it worked, now using private it's not, can the ISP be blocking private IP's?

I burned up one support ticket on it, now I'm burned up.

It is possible that you are being translated by your ISP to a public IP from a private address range. If that is the case, then some things just won't work because your network won't know the route back.
Currently I'm behind a NAT firewall and I'm able to VPN (PPTP or L2TP) w/o problems because the VPN address thatI get is a public address.

    Thanks for the scoop.
Exactly whats happening (private to public), Firewall blocking attempts. But of course after I start this thread...salesman calls up, no VPN access, told him to delete VPN connection and recreate it, Volah, no problems, my boss, on the road, no priority emails in inbox this morning, no problems.

Found out that NetZero, my home ISP, doesn't support VPN(?).
