PPPoP Problem

I run a DSL high speed connection running PPPoP connection. At one point it would connect but nothing would come up on my computer screen. One of the local telephone company tecky guess told me it was a corrupted WinSock file, and i tried to re-install some TCP/IP files. The DSL log on software is now giving me an error message that it cannot locate my NIC card. The NIC card shows that it exists and is working ok. I even re-installed drivers in Windows 2000 for the NIC card.

I am thinking it still must be an software issue related to the NIC card or something to do with the network settings that the PPPoP log-on software uses. I have deleted the DSL log-in sofware and re-nstalled it. I stll get the same error that the DSL (PPPoP) software does not see the nick card.

Any suggestions?

 

At our local telco

The local telco needs the PPPoP log on when using wINDOWS 2000. oN MY LAPTOP I have Vista installed and I dont need the log-on software. This is why this problem is such a pain.
