I can't seem to get answers from Microsoft. Thought I'd see if you guys can help. I initially bought XP Home Edition thinking that was all I'd need. Is there anyway that I can just add on Powerpoint? (kids need it for school) I know I can purchase XP Home & Student, but that seems a little expensive for just one add on. Since this laptop has Office 2003, I was wandering if I could get the 2003 version of Powerpoint instead of the new version.

I have tried to ask MS, but keep getting in a loop that won't accept my product ID #.

    Thanks

I downloaded the free Open Office Suite a few months ago. Using their version of Powerpoint, I was able to create two separate presentations in Open Office, save as both Open Office and Powerpoint files, and run the presentations on either platform. I didn't notice any differences or encounter any problems. However, I don't use either one extensively and my presentations were fairly simple without bells and whistles so there may have been subtle differences that I didn't notice.

When you say "Since this laptop has Office 2003, I was wandering if I could get the 2003 version of Powerpoint instead of the new version." I presume you mean *your* computer and not the one the kids use, otherwise as you know PP is one of the main Office apps.
