A couple of weeks ago we had a huge storm, the power surged a few times and the next morning I had Spyware all over the place. I got rid of the spyware, but now all I have is a white background and I cannot change it!

    Hi etastet.

Electrical storms never cause malware infections. The timing of the infection is a coincidence.

Do you have SP2 installed ?
Do you have Automatic updates turned on ?

Do you have a good anti-virus installed ?

Do you have a firewall replacement installed for the deficient XP firewall ?

Do you have Startup Monitor installed ?

Do you have a Startup program editor installed ?
