Power Point ( A Newbie)

    I have made a presentation slide show on power point, but when I click on its icon to start it, the template that I composed it in comes up. How can I get the slide show to start automatically when I double click on the .ppt icon.

    Go into Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types, scroll down to PPT and check thefile association - should be Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation.

    Otherwise try a Save As - PowerPoint Show - *.pps - this does not require PowerPoint to be loaded. I'm using 2003 and there have been some changes to that version from previous versions, but I think that is correct.

    Alternatively Help > Detect and Repair (PowerPoint)
