Resolved Power Options Stopped Working

While I cannot point to any specific event, turning off my display has stopped working. The settings are what I want but the display never turns off even after many hours of idle time. How can I debug this problem? TIA.

 

Have you tried using Windows' "System Restore" to roll Windows back to a previous state when your computer was functioning correctly? It allows you to undo system changes without affecting your personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos.

Thanks for the reply and no I did not. However, I did find a suspicious error coming from Google tool bar. I uninstalled it and the error went away. At that point turning off the display seemed to start working again. I'll have to keep an eye on it for a while to see if it is consistant now, but I think Google got me with some malware.

 

I rather doubt it would be Google. It would not be in their best interest to break your computer.

At any rate, good to hear it's working again.
