    eagleheart,

It should be in your BIOS... restart your computer and enter 'setup' (varies with different computers, common keys to use DEL of F1 or F2). You should be able to change the option there. If you have a problem, post back with specifics about your computer (manufacturer, processor type, etc.)

Do you have AMD's "Cool and Quiet" installed?

Do you have any 'overclocking' programs installed like nVidia's nTune? These have settings that can automatically adjust the processor speed. If so try disabling it.
If this doesn't help... hang tight, someone will jump in.

    Try this:

Right click on empty space on Desktop->Screen Saver->Power. There would be a a box saying Power Scheme. Just select Home/Office Desk, click Apply, Ok and close the dialog boxes.

Have you checked in the BIOS that AMD Cool'nQuiet is set to Disabled - you would not necessarily be aware that it is installed. If it is installed the Power Management should be set to 'Minimal power Management' and if you look in Device Manager under Processors the driver provider will be shown as AMD.

I am away from home and my desktop at present so cannot give you more detail on the driver situation.

Are you using a laptop to run this game? Most current laptops have 'mobile' processors which adjust their work rate depending on the load put upon them.

If this is the case I am not sure offhand where or how - or indeed if it is possible to disable that feature. One solution may be to run on mains power.

Post the model no.of the Gigabyte board - another user may be able to help. Normally I would download the manual and take a look, but I'm away from home on a dead slow dialup rather than my home broadband connection.
