    Have no experience using PDA's
Looking at info / specifications at Dell Axim X50v High Knowledge Base It's running Microsoft® Windows® Mobileâ„¢ 2003 Second Edition software for Pocket PC - Premium Edition. Comes loaded with numerous app's, but noticed no IE 6. So don't know if it can load / run a browser type program. Looking at Portable Firefox 1.0.7 (USB Drive-Friendly) info /install it can run from flash RAM cards ... with your expansion slot you can choose between CompactFlash Type II Card Slot (3.3v) and Secure Digital (SD) cards. You also have a USB port and cradle. So you own the PDA (and a very nice one at that), Portable Firefox is a free download, go for it. Just follow the install directions and see what happens.

and is there is a feature to leave mail on server
Portable Thunderbird 1.0.7 has suggestions for preferred settings .. all relating to minimizing disk writes to preserve battery life. If this is a normal Thunderbird, their is a option to leave messages on server. Another choice would be to set up an IMAP account in Thunderbird. I have been testing Aim Mail, has been rock solid. If you have a AIM IM account, your ready to go (uses same username / password) or just register at site. The advantage with IMAP accounts, the emails are stored on the server until you delete them. You can also log into the site from any computer and check your mail.
Please post back and let us know how it works out.

Well I followed all the instructions and loaded it to my CF. card and it will not run! it said ( this is not a pocket PC program and will not run) oh well it was worth the try! I didn't try to do the same for TB, since it to is not a pocket PC program and probally wouldn't run ether. So for now I am stuck with outlook and Microsoft's browser! Not that I will be surfing the web a lot with it I just thought it would be nice to use a email client and web browser I was familiar with

Thanks very much for posting back. Is a shame your pda will not run FF/TB, but you still have a nice PDA to enjoy.
