We're trying to download a form from my daughter's university that we need for tax purposes. When we get to the correct webpage, we click on the form, a window starts to open for about five seconds then it just disappears. On the page it says that we might have to disable our popup blocker to get the form. I did so by clicking on Tools, Popup blocker, Turn off popup blocker, but we get the same result. We're using IE8.

Any suggestions on what we might do to get this form will be appreciated.

Do you have the Google Toolbar? It has an option to block popups.

  3. to hide this advert.

sometimes pressing and holding the keyboard Ctrl key while clicking on link will disable a popup blocker temporarily.

IE security level set higher than default may stop popups.

As Whiskeyman has indicated you may have more than one popup blocker. Security programs such as antivirus may have a setting within their options.

Any additional toolbar may have one.

Watch IE for security warning and alert which will let you override the block.
See section on alerts: ( not suggesting that you disable these as site suggests but wondering if you have the settings that allow you to be alerted when a popup is blocked. )

Success! Pressing and holding the Control key did the trick. Thanks for the help.
