ok, theres a new form of *** **** annoying pop-ups.

    FLASH POPUPS

Ad blockers dont catch them and sometimes you have to actually wait til' these idiot makers of flash pop-ups decide when they want the "close" button to appear so you can get rid of it.

So, my question is, is there any type of software that automatically closes god **** annoying flash pop-ups.

    Thank you. :)

As the old saying goes... there is no free lunch.
Keep building a better mouse trap, you end up with a smarter mouse. Until they develop a tool to defend against the new "PopUp" (and a newer one to replace that one shortly after) you could do some of the following. Send a email to the site administrator. Explain your concern of the PopUp distraction... that it never encourages you to "buy" what there selling. You can offer some options. Could you purchase a inexpensive yearly subscription for a NO advertising site.... very similar to what this fine site offers. You can not control how they choose to operate there site. If they laugh in your face, you can inform them you will no longer use the site.. period. As internet matures and user become more demanding for quality service, I foresee numerous price options to achieve the service / content one wants.

    ads & popups be gone

first off I'd ask you to discontinue taking the Lord's name in vein. Yes, popups are vexing. popup "blockers ", those software programs that close popups after they spawn, are almost totally useless. Your bandwidth has already been stolen by those with a defective business model. Instead I would suggest you try local proxy filtering like that provided by either Prixoy or Proxomitron:

    http://privoxy.com
    or
    http://proxomitron.info

The latter is my preference but requires more thought and effort. If you make a habit of avoiding either then you should try privoxy first.

    good luck

    Hi Geordie
One the first page I see two imbeded flash, Just to the right
the top one I cant stop the other I can ,right click choose play
remove the check.Did try most links down the center , dont see anything else , but the same two do show up sometimes, no actual popups, I'll try again later to see if this is changed.
There is a script error ,one if third party cookies are blocked four or five if not, No idea what thats about , except something wrong with there code.

Do you have the latest version of flash player, untill I did I was getting one piped in at MSN.com,
    Ver: 6.0.79,0

I realy find them annoying and dont care to have any playing .
But the only I know (other then proximatron) is to get the latest version (then you wont be continualy prompted to install,)
then a program like SpyWare Blaster to stop them

If there full blown popups and flash to boot maybe youve contracted a nasty

If you use Internet Exploder, there is something else that might help. Make the site you go to and/or the popup's home site a Restricted Site. Then configure Restricted Sites harshly, to allow no more than absolutely necessary. Setting the popup server's IP to 127.0.0.1 in your hosts file is good too, but not an option if served by a site you want to visit. I already have around 40 sites in my Restricted list. Taken with Guidescope and the free Pop Up Stopper, I get very few popups, requests to install, etc.
