Can I run programmes in the background without them appearing in the start barbut the icon appearing in the sys tray.

ie I run MS Outlook and Adode Acrobat all day as they are always required. They both appear in the main start bar section and it gets cluttered when other programmes are run.

I used to use Poledit.exe on Win98. Is there something similar on XPpro.

I don't have any suggestions for Acrobat Reader but you can use HideOutlook to minimize Outlook to the system tray. It's free.

I've used both HideOutlook and HideOE and they work as advertised.

For WinXP Pro you use "gpedit.msc" from the "RUN" menu.

Just what I'm looking for, but it doesn't run under XP. I'll contact the programmer.

I'm using under XP and with not the slightest problem (except when I forget about it and the same hotkeys are used by a game).

When I ran the Wcat.exe, nothing obivous happens. However it has loaded the program into the system tray. I will now play.
