I hope someone has an idea about this. O/S is W98se and in "System ", "system properties ", "device manager ", "PnP BIOS ", "System board extension for PnP BIOS Properties ", "This device is causing a resource conflict ". Code 15... Is anyone able to clue me in as to how to fix this problem. Would this problem cause other problems in loading software for a USB sound card??? I sure would appreciate any help at all as I'm an eDummy.

Thank you for your guidance but after following the directions I wound up with no results. Something is wrong with my " Trouble Shooter" also. It's getting to be more than I can deal with. And I just got this machine back from the shop too.

If so, maybe you should bring it back, and let them to deal with it.

I had the same problem with my Intel 82801BAS/Bam SMBus controller - 2443 and the Direct Memory Mgr.. Solved it by:

opening the properties of the controller

    Resources

    unclick "automatic setting "

    Highlight Input/Output Range

    Change Setting

Then scrool till there is a un-used value and pick it

    Click OK

    Click OK

That will solve the problem (at least it did for me)

    Good Luck!!
