    hello everyone,

im going through my closet of hardware and getting rid of what i don't need, (wife's tired of looking at it, lol) anyway i ran across two video cards that i cannot id, both are agp and will not fit into any system that i currently own. as far as id printing on the boards, they appear to be the same card only different colors, there is "made in taiwan" on the front side, and on the back one card has a logo with the following numbers: 3v-0 94v-0 9850 and a sticker with: 9901 740-8c 08238. the other card is also "made in taiwan ", has a different logo followed by: 77 94v-0 9919 75m001 and a sticker with: 9906740-8ck 06404. i cannot find an fcc id number on them, but the do say "tested to comply with fcc standards ". they both have a holtek chip on them, one uses elite mt ram chips and the other mach speed.

any help would be greatly appreciated by both my wife and i.

thanks and have a great holiday season:D

    HI, have a look here:http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/AGP.htm
You will need identify whether the cards are:AGP slot - PCI slot - ISA slot.
I have 3 cards I'm looking at which have ATI chips and NVIDIA chip. The NVIDIA is an MSI brand and the ATI's are Radeon. These are the two major chips on the market, so there must be something to help you identify them. Neil.

If my memory serves me correctly, they could be early model AGP 1X-2X and could be keyed differently from later 2X-4X or 4X-8X. 1X-2X could have a different voltage to later models and were not compatible.

Not all the early AGP cards had an FCC number, so there might only be a slight chance of identifying them.

If you want general information, websearch about the early AGP cards and see how they were keyed.

    thanx matt

thanx matt, they are 3.3v, now i need to find out how to read the ram chips to get a better idea of how much they would sell for on craigslist. i recall seeing a chart that explains how to go about reading them, just not sure where i found it. if you find a chart while you're surfing please let me know, the last time i looked it took quite a bit of searching to find it.
