    C:\DOCUME~1\David\LOCALS~1\Temp\Rar$EX03.843\Hijac kThis.exe
Hijackthis should be in a permanent folder such as C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\Hijackthis.exe
    Not a temp folder.

    Nothing nasty showing, the entry
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
Is from microsoft money; but the file appears to be removed so you can run hijackthis , select this and choose fix to remove the entry.

Is the computer slow or the internet only?
Slow computer , I would run system file checker
    (Start / run and type
    sfc /scannow
and hit enter. When prompted insert your XP install CD and if it says failed when it tries to replace a damaged file hit retry until it succeeds. It just means something is using the file and you have to hit retry once for each application so that it will pause. ) When done go to belarc.com , click downloads and get the free belarc advisor. Run it and at the bottom look for any failed hotfixes (windows updates) use the provided links to download and install the patch.

If it is just internet, probably an updated dll is giving your firewall conniption fits. Try it with the firewall off and if this solves things Just run the program access wizard for the firewall again.

    Thanks

I'll do what you said and get back with you. I really appreciate it. My internet is fine. My computer is taking longer to boot up and and when I click on My Computer it takes quite awhile for it to load up.

Do you have a folder C:\i386 or C:\Windows\i386 ? Or an options/cabs folder in either locations ?
