Playing .wma files which are protected

I have a folder which contains all of my .wma files which I previously recorded from my CD's and which I could play on Media player 8 which I had without any problem.

Having updated / cleaned up my computer and added Media Player 11 and SP3 to Windows XP Professional, I now find that I CANNOT play any of these files and a message states that they they are protected and need to be registered which is so stupid.

Has anybody out there had this problem and if so how was it remedied.!!

I really cannot understand why this happening and is there any way to overcome this problem??

Thanks for your honest feelings. I understand where you are coming from and thank you for your concerns.

However I was introduced to uTorrent and VLC Player and by using them and other download engines, which I shall not name, I have been able to download all the "lost" music I had albeit with different Orchestras and conductors.

I am now a happy bunny and whilst typing this I am listening to the live recording of The Three Tenors - Carreras, Domingo and Pavarotti in Concert in Rome.
