    I have 5 folders with music in them. "Singing 1 ", "Singing 2 ", "Singing 3 ", "Singing 4 ", "Singing 5." I have about 15 songs in each one.

    I put them in a folder named, "Singing 1-5 ". I want to play the folder in VLC player, using the "random" so it would play all the songs in the folder randomly.

    Each folder plays, "randomly" but I want to play the songs in the all the folders randomly. When I try, it doesn't work. I get a error saying, "The directory name is invalid."

    I thought maybe the dash in the 1-5 did something, but I switched it to 1 5 without the -.

    Is it possible to play 5 folders in 1 randomly in VLC?

    Chris.

    Try:

    Media -> Open Folder

    Vlc will play all the files in the folder, including sub-folders.

    Or just create a playlist with all the files.

    Media, Open Folder worked, Thank you.

    I was going to the folder and right click, then pick "play with VLC Music Player."

    Thanks again,
    Chris.
