I seem to remember an option that would automatically place my reply at the top of my reply message rather than the bottom. Is there such an option?

    Hi tenbob,

Yes, you have that option. It's under Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings. Under Composition & Addressing, the second choice is, "Automatically quote the original message when replying ". Under that is "Then," and that's where you can set it to either above or below.

I would like that too, as my friends hate it when I forget and reply at the bottom.

    Hi Annieliese,

And it shall be yours! :)

Of course, you could always put your cursor at the beginning of the forwarded\replied to message and hit Enter a few times, too.

What program, or better, what part of a program? Browser or Mail?
In a Browser, like this site, I don't know of such feature, ther than suggested by jpChris.
A Mail program is, entirely, different. There are settings, in Tools|Account Settings|Composition and Addressing, in Thunderbird.

    Hi Westside,

Of course I forgot to ask which Browser Suite "tenbob" was using. :p

No matter, now tenbob & Annieliese know how to do it with SM and TB.

p.s. How did you get your sys info included in your posts? Is it in the "signature" area? Or somewhere else?

I should have paid closer attention to what you wrote, and you could have helped by being more specific.
is a Netscape/Mozilla|Seamonkey thing, and you get it through Edit, and, only, in the mail mode. Thunderbird, like Firefox, place all important stuff under Tools. Account settings is the dropdown line above Options (the equivalent to Preferences).
